Confession

Once I was drifting to sleep,

Alone in a forest tall and deep,

Lies of love and stolen fae hearts,

Encompassing my dreams of yonder years.

Fire’s orbs fading with every breath

Time takes its toll on those of disbelief

Lush ivies protecting against fearsome warriors

Eyes of green watching everso closely

Thief of Hope hiding to find

‘ How did he steal something that wasn’t mine?’

Pixiedust breath and fae heart

Fight for adventure, a longing to start

Cross borders to a watery silence, beyond dare

Truth behind lies and a promise never kept

“Fae are not to be trusted” Panpipes fluttering

Alone with sorrow and hate I sleep.
